Environmental statement

Often, the routes to production of ceramic supplies are opaque. I choose to purchase my clay from a manufacturer who offers information about their production methods. I research the environmental policies of all my suppliers.  I reclaim all my scrap and waste clay.

I'm very aware that when I fire an item it transforms into a form which is not recyclable, so only fire items which are top quality. I have a £5 bucket at selected fairs so any seconds that do emerge from the kiln can be purchased and used.

I recycle my throwing water, and use rainwater where possible. My kiln is sector leading in terms of energy efficiency and I use renewable energy.  I used as many reclaimed and recycled supplies as possible when building my studio, including wood from the Bristol Wood Recycling Project.

All my packaging is either new and made from recycled products, or is recycled itself (any bubble wrap I use is on at least its second use). You can recycle my packaging (check your local council's recycling schemes) and please do reuse what you can.
